Life Membership
This program was created to enable children to become life members of HTW. Parents can pay $1001 to HTW for each child under 18, who in turn will get voting rights once they turn 18. This program creates a sense of belonging on the part of children when they see their names listed on the plaque in the temple. Parents get the satisfaction that they are helping preserve the religion and culture of their ancestors. Initially some 60 children signed up for this program. They are listed in Founding Members category. Later names are listed on the plaque in front of the HTW office.

Bylaw Updates - 12/26/2025
Subject: Action Requested: Important HTW Community Update - Approved Bylaw Updates Donor Membership & Electronic Voting
Dear Devotees,
Our bylaws were last updated before 2009 and the below two haven't been updated since 2001. As our community and the world have evolved, these updates help us stay aligned with today’s needs.
We would like to share two important bylaw updates that will help us better serve our growing community.
1. Lifetime Donor Membership Update
Beginning February 1, 2026, the minimum cumulative contribution for new Lifetime Donor Members will be $5,000 (from current $1,000).
All existing Lifetime Donor Members as of January 31, 2026, remain fully grandfathered. Lifetime Donor Members continue to be eligible to vote and file nominations for Board positions.
Examples for clarity:
Spouses and Children: Each member shall carry one vote to be exercised by either spouse. Children are non-voting Members of the HTW. At the age of 18 years, they will qualify as voting members.
- Example 1: A family of two contributed $1,000 cumulatively (lifetime) as of December 24, 2025 (two adults). The two adults are already Lifetime Donor Members - no further action is needed.
- Example 2: A family of four has contributed $990 cumulatively as of December 24, 2025 (two adults and two children under 18). They are not Lifetime Donor Members yet. If the adults wish to become Lifetime Donor Members (one vote per family), they may contribute the remaining $10 before January 31, 2026, to meet the current $1,000 minimum.
- Example 3: A family of four has contributed $1,000 cumulatively as of December 24, 2025 (two adults and two children over 18). The two adults are already Lifetime Donor Members. If the family would like their children to also become Lifetime Donor Members of HTW, they may contribute $1,000 per child, along with each child’s unique email and contact information before January 31, 2026, to meet the current $1,000 minimum. The family will have 3 voting members (1 family, 2 children).
If you have questions about your specific situation, please feel free to contact the HTW office—we are happy to help.
2. Electronic Voting Starting 2026
HTW will evaluate, enable and introduce electronic voting for elections beginning in 2026. This change supports environmental responsibility, reduces waste and cost, and improves convenience for all devotees.
General Body Approval
These bylaw updates were reviewed in the General Body meeting on December 7, 2025, and the motions were discussed and passed successfully. The Board may revise the Lifetime member amounts from time to time as per the Bylaws. The decision to raise the amounts must be made by The Board by at least a 2/3rd majority vote and be approved by a simple majority of voting members attending the annual meeting.
How You Can Help – AND a Call to Action
- If you wish to become a Lifetime Donor Member under the current $1,000 minimum, please do so by January 31, 2026.
- Please update your contact information (email and phone number) in the HTW system. Your information is secure and never shared outside.
Thank you for your continued trust, support, and devotion. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve you.
Warm regards, HTW Board
