Gurukul

Gurukul classes are currently being offered in Milwaukee to open young minds to spirituality and the richness of Hinduism in a very fun-filled and loving atmosphere. The children are exposed to basic Hindu ethical and moral concepts from our ancient scriptures that will not only help them to be proud of their heritage but also start to develop their character.

Our mission is to Inspire Children to Learn Values, Culture, and Philosophy of Hinduism.

The classes are held every Sunday from 11:00 am till 12:00 Noon at the following location

Academic Year 2016-2017

There are currently over 25 children enrolled in Gurukul and are divided into 2 levels.

  • Level 1 (5-9 years old): These include children who are in 5th grade in school or lower during the current academic year. These children are learning about the “Mahabharat” in the current academic year.
  • Level 2 (10-15 years old): These include children who are in 6th grade in school or higher during the current academic year. These children are learning about the “Bhagvatam” in the current academic year.

Parents are welcome to attend the classes with their children. Many parents attend both Level 1 (helping their children take notes) as well as Level 2 classes (to brush up their understanding of Bhagavatam). Parents also encouraged to attend the sessions when we celebrate Hindu festivals. During the Spring semester we will be celebrating Makar Sankranti/Pongal, Shiv Ratri, Holi, and Ramnaumi.
